Africa

Amitofo Care Center (ACC)

ACC is an international non-profit organization serving African orphans who lost their parents due to poverty, war, natural disaster, and/or HIV/AIDS. ACC has set up orphanages in four countries in Africa (Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, and Swaziland), benefiting more than 800 in-resident orphanages and 8,000 community members through outreach centers by offering shelter, education, food, and occupational training. Additional orphanages are under construction in Mozambique and South Africa. In 2014, STUF United Fund coordinated the ACC Goodwill Mission Tour in North America, arranged fundraising activities in 11 cities, and raised more than US $350,000 for ACC.

Cherish Uganda

Cherish Uganda helps orphaned and vulnerable children living with HIV. Through grassroots interventions and community-based partnerships in health and education, Cherish Uganda creates accessible care for children in the communities. STUF United Fund provided funding to Cherish Uganda to build the “Hope Clinic” in the Wakiso District. The clinic helps more than 5,000 community residents, more than half of whom suffer from extreme poverty, living on less than $1.25 per day.

Imvula Foundation NPC

The goal of Imvula Foundation NPC in South Africa is to strengthen communities through specific sport programs and training courses, especially swimming, since drowning is a massive problem. STUF United Fund provides the funding needed to create 11 portable inflation swimming pools in the Mdantsane region. The program enables thousands of primary school learners to have weekly swimming lessons.

South Sudan Community Skill Development

Community Skills Development (CSD) is located in Yambio County, Western Equatoria State, South Sudan. CSD was specifically created to respond to the critical challenges of unemployment, acute poverty, women’s vulnerability, hunger and illnesses, and the enormous level of illiteracy, resulting from many years of a sanguinary fight for Independence. Western Equatoria State (WES) in South Sudan has the highest level of illiteracy in the world: 85% on the average, and 95% in the rural areas.

Step30

Founded via the East African house churches system, Step30 helps to meet the shortage of resources in Africa, initiates material donation in Asia and give out to the disadvantaged in rural areas of the country.  Step30’s projects include “Love Binti” which resolves African women’s issue of lack of sanitary pads, “A Better School” which provides children with education, “Ku Ku Farming Project” which introduces the idea and practice of micro-economy, and “Living Water” which fundraises for wells.  Overall Step30 looks forward to a village transformation by improvement on people’s body health, mind, and spirit.

South America

Fundacion Para La Salud Los Angeles Paraguay-China

The Foundation collaborates with Hospital Los Angeles Paraguay-China to provide health and medical attention to children and adults in the local area. The incubator program for immature babies has saved more than 5,300 infants. In addition, 112 nutritional stations are set up to offer soybean milk to local residents, benefiting more than 4,100 families. Through monthly e-Newsletters and setting up a designated fund, STUF United Fund shares the foundation’s updates with international readers who are willing to support their causes.

HOOP

HOOP (Helping Overcome Obstacles Peru) aims to empower disadvantaged children and their families in Arequipa, Peru. HOOP is a non-governmental organisation working in partnership with the community to create a lasting impact by providing free education, as well as social and health programs.

North America

Taiwanese Chorus of Greater Houston

The activity of the chorus is to enhance the life of the members and the community through performing choral music, promote cultural exchange among ethnic groups, and pass on cultural heritage to younger generations.

Taiwanese American Arts Council

The NGO was established in 2014 to carry forward the mission of the Art Endowment Fund and the gallery at the Queens Museum. The NGO aims to provide assistance to Asian/Pacific Islander artists, scholars, and specialists in the arts. It supports cultural and art leaders in different fields and in all states in the US.

Boys & Girls Club of Silicon Valley

Serving over 3,000 youth annually, ages 6-18, SVBGC provides outcome- or need-based programs that develop the 21st-century skills necessary to be successful in school, career and life: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, citizenship and communication. With the funding support from STUF, SVBGC can provide quality afterschool programs to community children.

California Line Dance Association of America (CLDAA)

CLDAA promotes exercise, health and enjoyment for people of all ages through the art of line dancing. It serves 220,000 people per year through many dance and health classes in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Care To Help Foundation

The foundation endeavors to help improve the living standard of impoverished people throughout the world. Its mission is to enable individuals of every race and religion to express their compassion and care for their fellow human beings. The foundation focuses on direct distribution, housing projects, education and vocational training, and disaster relief.

Evergreen Senior Citizens Center

FESCC in Canada provides a comfortable and encouraging activity space for seniors to enjoy a healthy, active life. Seniors can participate in a wide range of multicultural and recreational activities.

Garden of Hope-NY

The organization helps women who are victims of abuse with hotline support, safety planning, emergency shelter, and legal referrals. It also educates the public through workshops and training to raise public awareness. Children who witness or experience abuse are provided with free tutoring, mentoring, and summer programs. STUF United Fund is one of the major sponsors of the organization, helping women and children who suffer from domestic violence walk out of fear.

Generosity Water Inc.

The organization is dedicated to ending the clean water crisis in developing countries through strategic partnerships and in-depth accountability. Funding from STUF United Fund is used to build wells in Haiti and Ghana to benefit more than 1,500 people.

Greater Dallas International Foundation

The foundation provides financial support for Asian cultural, artistic and educational events in the greater Dallas region. It also provides funding and scholarships for international student exchange programs between schools in Asia and the greater Dallas region.

Hope Services

Over the course of nearly 62 years, Hope Services has evolved from one of the first preschools serving only children with special needs, to providing a full range of integrated social services to more than 3,700 children, teens, adults, and seniors with developmental disabilities.

Houston Institute for Senior Citizens

The institute is dedicated to provide learning opportunities to senior citizens in the Houston metropolitan area. Embracing this focus on living to learn and learning to live, the institute offers courses in many areas such as languages, history and culture, health and wellness, and leisure activities.

International Leadership Foundation

The foundation promotes civic awareness, public service and economic effectiveness of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community. It aims to develop young leaders in the United States, Asia, and Pacific Rim countries in the fields of public service, entrepreneurship and the international arena through a network of business and community leaders.

Keep Austin Fed

Keep Austin Fed is a volunteer-based NGO that gathers wholesome and nutritious surplus food from commercial kitchens and distributes it to charities in the area that serve the hungry. It reduces hunger and helps the environment by connecting surplus food and hungry neighbors. It rescues thousands of meals each month, feeding hundreds of local neighbors living with food insecurity — the 1 in 7 people who do not know where their next meal will come from.

Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health (LPFCH)

The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health works in alignment with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the child health programs of Stanford University. The mission is to elevate the priority of children’s health and increase the quality and accessibility of children’s healthcare through leadership and direct investment. STUF United provides funding for the uninsured children’s medical needs.

National Council of Association of Chinese Language Schools (NCACLS)

The association is composed of Chinese language teaching associations across the United States. Organization members of NCACLS are in 47 states with a total of 100,000 students. NCACLS is devoted to promoting Chinese language and learning activities, and enhancing the quality of Chinese language schools.

Taiwanese Canadian Community Service Association

Taiwanese Americans Citizen League

The mission of TACL is to enhance the quality of life for Taiwanese Americans in the US by understanding Taiwanese American heritage, encouraging pride in Taiwanese American identity, developing a strong Taiwanese American community and advocating around issues pertinent to Taiwanese Americans.

U.S Career Orientation Foundation

The goal of USCOF is to build a platform that connects college and graduate school students and employers in the United States. USCOF hosts career fairs in New York annually.

Asia

After School 368

The organization provides quality afterschool education programs for children from underprivileged families and communities, especially in the rural area.

Alliance Cultural Foundation

Founded in 2009, The Alliance Cultural Foundation (ACF) works with partners to uplift the education of rural regions and empowers its youths to envision the possibility of a different future. ACF provides full scholarships to underprivileged children, valuing innovative teaching methods which emphasize not only academics, but creativity through the arts/humanities, as well as developing good character, values, and independent thinking in a multicultural environment.

Coding Nations

Through computer coding courses, Coding Nations aims to help children and teenagers experience the benefit of coding training.  Through different levels of courses, the instructors help the learners improve their skills in logic reasoning, problem solving, and innovative thinking.

Taiwan Black Bear Conservation Association

The association is devoted to the research and protection of the endangered black bears. STUF provides grants to support related education seminars and public activities to educate the general public about the importance of preserving endangered animals and maintaining a balanced ecological system.

Carlo Urbani Association

The association was established to carry on the spirit of Dr. Carlo Urbani and to encourage people to help with education work and public health in underprivileged countries of the world. STUF United Fund provides funding for educational workshops to introduce the effort of Dr. Urbani.

Junyi Academy

The core value of Junyi Academy, founded in 2010, is to care for disadvantaged groups and to solve societal problems through technology. Junyi Academy offers free online personalized learning tools for all ages and aims to provide an equal learning opportunity and first-class learning materials. By using the online learning tool, it can further bring out students’ self-learning enthusiasm and help teachers embrace heuristic teaching to teach students in accordance with their aptitude and employ their talent to the fullest.

TEP Culture and Education Association

TEP Culture and Education Association helps the people of Cambodia–and particularly the youth–by providing education in Computing, English, and Chinese. The program sets up learning centers to provide education to youth in towns and rural villages. STUF United Fund is a major sponsor of the program, which has helped more than 8,000 children in 20 educational centers throughout Cambodia. A job training and placement section was added in 2015 to the program to achieve the goal of eradicating poverty.

Life Education Association

The association aims to educate the general public about the meaning of life to create a society where people respect themselves and one another. Through educational workshops and activities, the association fosters love and care for individuals, families, and communities to create a better society. STUF United Fund forms partnerships with other education focus groups to share and introduce these valuable courses.

The Mustard Seed Mission

Based on the faith and hope of the mustard seed, the Mustard Seed Mission (MSM) provides childcare services, holistic youth development and supportive family service network in order to restore family functions, so that love and righteousness can be passed down from generation to generation.

TFT

TFT was established to challenge the issue of education inequality. It provides disadvantaged communities, mostly in rural areas, with quality teachers for long-term or short-term teaching. The program provides valuable resources for teacher shortages and lack of quality learning materials in many schools.

TAISA

Aiming to close up the digital and healthcare divide in East Africa, TAISA establishes long term partnerships with grassroots organizations by our capacity building program in health and education. TAISA program in digital education has helped more than 40 rural schools in Kenya and Tanzania to provide quality digital education to students. Our volunteer is also working with community clinics on health checkup and community engagement projects.

Vox Nativa Taiwan Association (VNT)

VNT’s objective is to help indigenous children from the Bunun tribe who mostly live in remote regions and come from disadvantaged families. To break the cycle of poverty and to develop future professionals, VNT has been providing academic support and choir training programs since 2008. It aims ultimately to cultivate talented tribal role models who can give back to their communities. The association also hopes, through its choir, to preserve and spread indigenous music, letting the world listen to and enjoy voices from Asia.
