Participation in the UN
STUF United Fund joined the United Nations Global Compact as an NGO member in 2010 and is in Special Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC since 2016. Our organization has been participating in UN related activities in the past years.

The UN High Level Political Forum on SDG parallel event focused on “Empowering People and Ensuring Inclusiveness and Equality” and took place on June 16th, 2019. In addition to speakers and commentators, special guests included Ms. Elena Provina from the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN and Mr. Jassér Jimenez from the Permanent Mission of Nicaragua to the UN. Speakers included Dr. Pai-Po Lee, Deputy Secretary General of ICDF, Dr. Shang-Ju Li, founder of HOOP (Helping Overcome Obstacles Peru), and Mr. Yale Huang, Chairperson of STUF United Fund International Volunteering Committee. STUF invited Dr. Abraham Joseph, International Economic Policy specialist, Dr. Yanis Ben Amor, Director of Columbia University SDGs Center and Ms Teresa Wu, Human Resource Consultant as commentators. CEO John Lin served as Moderator for the event.

STUF United Fund participated in the UN Economic and Social Council Partnerships Forum.
July 2018
The UN High Level Political Forum on SDG side event held on July 12th, 2018 was cosponsored by STUF and the Permanent Mission of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN, whose Permanent Representative Ambassador Inga Rhonda King gave the opening remarks at the event. Ambassador Hasbun, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the UN, served as the moderator and the speakers included STUF then CEO Jeff Yao, Ms. Laura Remley from Step 30/Love Binti Uganda, Dr. Charles Nyandiga, Program Advisor of the Small Grants Programme at UNDP, and Mr. Alvin Leong, New York Energy and Environmental Attorney. Through the event, STUF hoped to share its successful model of private-public partnership in fostering social change and help other NGOs participate in UN related events.
